Hopkins Smokey Grill

We didn’t have food so good in a very long time. We both ordered lobster - one coconut and one jerk and it caused a heated argument whose order was better. Sides were also fantastic (beans & rice and fried plantain chips). Some reviews mention inadequate portion size but for our European standards these were just perfect.

We were a large group and had the most delicious and fresh food! The jerk chicken was a winner amongst the group- highly recommend the medium heat level as it was not too spicy. Barbara and Annie were extremely responsive and appreciative. Will definitely be returning!

Don’t miss this spot. My wife had the whole fish and said it was the best she has had for years. I had the jerk shrimp and it was amazing. Her jerk may have the best flavor I have ever had.The twice baked potatoes were also terrific, great flavor and left the skin on the outside which is my favorite part.The service was five star from start to finish. Wonderful welcoming staff, quick service and nice cocktails. I have not been in on a while and kicking myself. One of my new favorite spots for sure.

Great little restaurant. I had the jerk shrimp and it was amazing.. though definitely on the high side of medium in heat!!! My husband had the ribs which were not quite fall off the bone but had good flavor. Lovely family running it. Thank you for a great last dinner for this trip!

So good we went back twice!We’ve been travelling Central America the last month and this is by far our favourite spot.The first night we had jerk lobster and the coconut lobster and both were so so flavoursome and we just couldn’t believe how much lobster meat there was (you would never get this in London for even the fraction of the price)We’ve eaten at a lot of the local places but I wanted to come back for the pork chop so we did! We arrived and she had closed up but she very very very kindly opened up for us and cooked us another incredible meal. My partner had the coconut shrimp and I had the unbelievable pork chop with parsley potato’s.Barbara provides 10/10 service and 10/10 food. I can’t rate this place highly enough, this place is a must if you’re in Hopkins.

My husband and I had dinner here on the last night of our honeymoon trip to Hopkins and it was the right choice! They are cash only, but there’s an ATM right on the corner and the woman who sat us was completely unbothered when we realized we didn’t have much cash with us. She told us to sit, relax, eat and deal with going to the ATM after our meal, she was lovely. I had jerk shrimp with rice and beans, my husband had coconut shrimp with rice. He said it was the best coconut shrimp he’d ever had. I got my jerk shrimp medium spicy and it was very flavorful. We also had a couple of cocktails that were very good and strong! Everyone was super friendly and the service was wonderful! Thank you for making the last night of trip a little extra special!

Ok, I'm going to level with you. Not to put on airs, but I've had meals all over the world, from Kyoto to Florence, New York, San Fransisco to high in the Canadian Rockies.Our dinner here at Hopkins Smokey Grill was a top meal of my life. My wife got the Jerk Chicken, which was so tender, and at medium heat had a nice kick that wasn't punishing. I couldn't decide between the Coconut Shrimp, or the special Shrimp & Ginger, so I ordered both The coconut shrimp was plump and the breading was so crispy, perfectly done with big shavings of tender sweet coconut. The Shrimp & Ginger was tender and had so much flavor, after I ate the shrimp I put in some coconut rice just to soak up the sauce.This is one of those meals I'll tell people about, and compare meals to from now on. The proprietors were sweet and welcoming, and should be immensely proud of what they do. It's not everyone who can do what they do, and to do it at such a high level. When we inevitably return to this beautiful country, no matter where we stay we'll be back. Thanks for an amazing meal

We spent 2 days in Caye Caulker. The food was very good but when we arrived in Hopkins we went to the Smokey Grill and all I can say is “WOW” fantastic!!! This is our second time in Hopkins and The Smoky Grill is definitely one of our favorite restaurants!!!! Try it! You definitely won’t regret it!!
